Your Eminence,
We are writing to humbly ask you for prayers for a dear friend of ours, Therese Fox. She has just been diagnosed with terminal renal cancer. It seems that the cancer has already spread to both lungs. The doctors have given her 6-9 months to live.
She is a wife and mother of seven children, ages 6 through 23, and is the Director of Religious Education at our local parish, St. Luke the Evangelist in Dahlonega, Georgia, USA.
Therese has asked us to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet for her family. We know that our late beloved Holy Father also had a devotion to St. Faustina and the message of Divine Mercy. Her "saint" of choice to pray for the intercession to do God's Will is our beloved, John Paul, the Great. Therese's maiden name is O'Leksy and her father's family is originally from Poland. Therese has often referenced that Pope John Paul the Great reminded her of her late grandfather. She has always stated that "JP II taught me how to live my faith."
During the Interregnum which was televised on EWTN in the United States, our hearts ached for you, as well, since we knew that you and Pope John Paul II were such close friends. We would like to think that we have that in common as we are now dealing with that same cross that you bore so strongly. You had to watch your dear friend, John Paul II, suffer as we, too, have to watch ours.
We have set up a spiritual bouquet for Therese and her family and ask you, if possible, to spread this prayer request throughout the world. We would be eternally grateful if the prayers of the world through the intercession of John Paul the Great could lead to a miracle and her healing.
Therese is praying for John Paul II's intercession for strength and wisdom in discerning God's Will for her and her family. We as her dear friends, would like to ask for John Paul II's intercession for a miracle and a complete healing. What a better gift that if Therese's miracle could be used in the documents for John Paul II's beatification or, better yet, his canonization.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Amy Schmalen,
