A Letter From Therese

Thursday, February 22, 2007

Thank you all for the spiritual bouquets of prayer offered for me and my family.  It is an awesome experience to witness the outpouring of love and concern from so many dear, caring, praying, old and new friends!   I feel God's comfort through you in this time of need, and I pray in thanksgiving for all of your prayers, and I join my prayers for your intentions as well.  For those of you who know me, you know I am a private person.  And as I recently told my friend that built this site as a gift to me, thankfully it ISN'T all about me -- it's about people uniting in prayer for some person they've never met, it's about praying for God's Divine Mercy on the whole world, and it's about me praying for you and you praying for me and everyone praying for us but also praying for everyone else.

I feel I must grab the opportunity to ask that you include my mother in your prayer intentions.  She has recently been hospitalized and is awaiting triple bi-pass surgery (sometime between Friday and Monday as it looks now).  As you can imagine my family was just beginning to digest my diagnosis when we heard the news about Mom's condition and surgery.  Please pray for my Mom's upcoming surgery, for her doctors, and for the rest of the family.  We truly appreciate every prayer.

On a lighter note, David and I got away this weekend and went to Asheville, NC.  My priest told us about the Minor Basilica there, St. Lawrence.  It is was awesome!  We spent time in Adoration, took a tour of the Basilica, went to Mass on Sunday and Monday, and had a few holy God-incidences occur along the way! One such grace was praying before Mass during Exposition, and having my neighbor's mother sit in the pew in front of us!  This was just one of the signal graces that was like a "spiritual hug" to us.  Oh, and JPII was the pope to raise St. Lawrence in Ashville to a Minor Basilica status!  JPII, pray for us!

Thy Will Be Done!
